Tips For Picking & Opening a New Deck

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE GIFTED YOUR FIRST DECK! This is a commonly perpetuated rumor among occult circles and. Witchy practitioners. If everybody waited to be gifted their first deck, a majority of the people that were interested wouldn't ever get started. I can tell you as somebody with many decks the most important part is that you resonate with the deck or feel a calling towards it. I've had decks that I was unsure about or that have been gifted to me and it's almost impossible to get consistent readings. But the decks that I felt drawn to have been spooky, accurate. Also, when getting a new deck, it's important that you do some kind of cleansing when you first unbox. Because these decks were made in a warehouse, other people have handled them, and their energy is all over them. You should do an energy clearing. I suggest smudging it with Palo Santo or Sage As this will help remove any residual energy that were put onto the deck while packing. Then It's best to attune to your cards. If you don't know what attunement is, you're basically getting Familiar with your card and setting an intention with them? I suggest holding the cards to your heart with love and putting your intention to get good positive readings that are in your highest good and then going through the deck, card by card and familiarizing yourself with the artwork as well as any symbolism drawn within the card.

As I know this is going to be a common question, I'll be adding a more in depth blog post about this topic
